Forget Me Never

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.

forget-me-never

Even though we parted,

I saw you through eyes shining with tears,

you had your set ways

and I had my fears

but wherever you go forget me not.

Together we shared,

many happy years,

my friend you took with you,

my broken heart

and left memories that will last forever,

forget me not.

The days of our love,

will linger for a long while,

but even though I’m sad, I smile,

smile for what we once had,

a part of you still with me,

forget me not.

Now when I go walking in the rain,

through misty eyes, I see us dancing,

hear the music of our love song,

wondering where all the rainbows have gone.

It hasn’t been too long,

since you were here,

suddenly the storm clouds appeared,

now I wonder what I could do,

to make you once again true.

I miss you now

and always will,

through friendly partings,

the sorrow still remains,

you took a part of me with you

and if you ever want to come home -

forget me never.

Awww, thank you, Bill. You too are unforgettable.

That is the best thing that can happen, Paul. If you won't be together at least not to be forgotten. We never know what might happen in the future. Hope you find a new love soon.

Ryan Paul S Balagtas from Philippines on December 11, 2018:

I was reading the poem emotionally....I just parted ways with someone whom I thought I'd spend forever it. She found someone new. I know we won't be together anymore but my hope now is just not to be forgotten... :(

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on December 11, 2018:

Who could every forget you?

Answer: no one!
