For the Spirit of Creation by Manatita. A Soulful Offering to Li-Jen Hew

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Wisdom from Sri Chinmoy

"God originated Himself from His own Silence.

God was One, but He wanted to become many...

God is the tree and we are the leaves of the tree, God is the ocean and we are tiny drops of water. He is vast, but we have our constant oneness with God, just as the leaves can claim the tree as their very own and the drops can claim the ocean as their very own. ..."

The tall, sky-blue painted cupboard opens invitingly,

Adjacent to a mirror, hanging silently on the wall.

I gaze at its reflection, note the shimmering glow

Of the mosquito net, hanging from the ceiling.

I feel its safety, but there are no mosquitos here,

Only the security of creamy rectangular walls.

The white-tiled bathroom, awaits our evening waltz,

But my duvet feels reassuringly comfortable.

The white sheets smell of the diligence,

Of the meticulous maid, going the extra mile,

In her desire to keep me happy.

I do my ablutions, pay homage to deities on my shrine.

Somewhere in the distance, the sound of traffic carries,

All a part of the game, of the Spirit of Creation.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier, 19th June 2018.

~Awakening The Inner Light ~

Song of Kabir

"You are in us, and we are in You,
Each being distinct, yet ever united.
You are the tree, the seed, and the cell;
You are the flower, the fruit, and the shade;
You are the sun, the light, and the lighted;
You are the manifold form of infinite space;
You are the breath, the word, and the meaning;
You are the limit and the limitless.
You are the Immanent Mind in us;
You are the Supreme Soul within the soul.
Blessed are all who see You." -Kabir

Yes, Bro. He was an awesome soul! More and westerners are becoming familiar with him.

Waheguru ji ke khalsa ...

Waheguru ji ke fateh.

Rajan Singh Jolly from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on July 30, 2018:

Kabir, though unread from a worldly point of view, had a spiritual brilliance as evident in his song. God exists in both nirgun and sargun state: nirgun when all by Himself and sargun when he diffuses into all forms of His creation.

Thank you, Li-Jen.

I'm glad that I'm going through some poems as I thought that I had responded before. So sorry. I'm always happy to see you and did miss you a bit. Glad that you are catching up with the comments. Hope that you are ok and not working too hard. May the Beloved continue to bless you and guard your Heart. Amitabha.

Li-Jen Hew on July 08, 2018:

Hello Manatita! Thank you again for the soulful offering. I'm not the type who laughs loudly but inside I am ecstatic! In the earlier soulful offering to me, I think I said "best" but now I know, everything's the best: This poem. Your gift, words etc. Sorry for not seeing this earlier. I like how your poem carries a spiritual meaning in the setting of a bedroom...and the mosquito net! The blue cupboard's cool too. The poem is dreamy with the sheets and stuff but still has that sense of purpose at that end. Thanks so much for the explanations and comments below as well. Haha. :)

manatita44 (author) from london on June 23, 2018:

Yes, Peggy.

Kabir is highly respected in India. He was a great God-lover and illumined soul.

Thank you so much!

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on June 23, 2018:

Beautiful poetry. That video with the "Song of Kabir" was beautiful to see as well as hear. Thanks!

So the two 'brothers' came together. Yes, an interesting poll with sublime answers. Thank you so much!!

Yes. I'm very good with what I call "observational poetry.' Here i use the senses or some of them ... add embellishments and twists to make it Divine. So happy that you noticed.

Li-Jen would be pleased with you. Gratitude.

Tim Truzy from U.S.A. on June 20, 2018:

Excellent, Manatita. I love the images and the poll question was one that requires putting thought into. Beautiful work as always.

Much respect,

Ioannis Arvanitis from Greece, Almyros on June 20, 2018:

My dear Brother, you have this incredible ability to shape Light and Love through words! It's a gift, but it is more a result of your inner work through which you became a transparent medium of His Grace!

This Hub is an exceptional offer to a Soul who deserves it because Li-Jen is a noble young woman who is seeking her Heart.

I am so glad for both of you!

Love from Greece!

PS: Dear Carrie, in the next days you'll have your answers, check my profile...

manatita44 (author) from london on June 20, 2018:

Thanks Rinita.

I'm always happy when Hubbers are in tune with at least some of the God-intoxicated souls I admire.

Li-Jen is a sweet and simple soul. A great virtue. Thank you so much!

Rinita Sen on June 20, 2018:

Splendid, and seems to me to be in tandem with Li-Jen's writings, which I admire. Adding Kabir's lines was perfection!

manatita44 (author) from london on June 19, 2018:

Indeed Dee,

Indeed! They are not welcome here. I have noticed your Hub. Will get there soon.

Of course when we accept this theme of oneness, we come to see God as omnipresent and the Master Intelligence or Planner in All.

Thank you so much!

Hi Linda.

Seems that everything touched you in this one! So proud of you. If you haven't, then listen to the singing of the words of Kabir. So elevating! So enchanting!

Thanks a million!

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on June 19, 2018:

Interesting! Oneness with God is also the topic of my last quotes (in other words). Familiar with the mosquito net, and the influence of the mosquito in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy their absence.

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on June 19, 2018:

I love the Sri Chinmoy quote, your poem, and the Song of Kabir. This is a lovely article that is personally meaningful for me. Thank you for creating it.

manatita44 (author) from london on June 19, 2018:

Thank you, Bill.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on June 19, 2018:

I'm just doing a quick fly-by today to wish you a spectacular day of peace and love.

manatita44 (author) from london on June 19, 2018:

Thanks Eric.

I'm beginning to think you are always high. I need some of that juice. Ha ha.

Welcome! To my mind it's a great contribution. I'm doing a rather long interview about the deeper questions. Perhaps you may read Part one soon. Write to me and I would do my best to answer. ceeccil@hotmail.com

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on June 19, 2018:

Yes. Must we say more?

carriethomson from United Kingdom on June 19, 2018:

If God is within us then how can we do wrong thing? how can we give pain to others? why we all are not happy etc?

manatita44 (author) from london on June 19, 2018:

Thanks Mary.

he was a God-intoxicated soul of the highest order ... a man who saw and merged in God. Glad to know of your views. Try to serve in that way also. Who knows, it may help you.

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on June 19, 2018:

This is a philosophy I adhere to, the oneness of life. Thank you for introducing me to the Song of Kabir. It is beautiful and describes beautifully my own beliefs.
