Find Your Confidence
Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.
Set the Mood
Here is a word from the simple,
A harsh word cut from the wise.
Smile ‘til your cheeks show a dimple,
Laugh ‘til you hurt your sides.
Here is a word from the fool,
A harsh word cut from the genius.
Don’t end up the smart man’s tool,
Freedom is fruitful and I mean this.
Here is a word from the sick,
A harsh word cut from their health.
Don’t fall for promises from the slick,
You must reach out for your own wealth.
Here is a word from the dauntless,
A harsh word cut from the cowardly.
Cherish your bravery and flaunt it,
For hundreds are dying scared, hourly.
Here is a word from the few,
A harsh word cut from the many.
Don’t hang around with nothing to do,
Or they’ll trade you for as little as a penny.
Here is a word from the lazy,
A harsh word cut from the go-getters.
This world can break and make you crazy,
But only if you sit idle, only if you let her.
Here is a word from someone who loves you,
A kind word cut straight from my chest.
Start looking toward the goals you feel are above you,
And realize if you tried, you’d always be the best.
