Feeling Good by Feeling Bad: A Satiric Poem
You may not believe it, but you may try
but so many of us just can't feel good
unless they are not in a gear to cry
or in any related negative mood.
Bitterness makes them complete
with recall of an injustice they thrive
as they may resent all successful elite
and every great personage dead or alive.
Hypochondriacs and rebels and cynics alike
share this rosy trait of pissed-off-go-happy
enjoying every high blood pressure spike
a chance to go against grain all snappy.
So much to complain, so little to enjoy
as joy is for dreamers and wimps only
and if there is no one with gift to annoy
they feel bored, unmotivated and lonely.
Just watch news or get paper to read
with all that ranting, whining and protest
and you'll recognize so many of that breed
addicted to misery and grouching to their best.
