First step towards facing your fear(s) is always the hardest to make. It has to be taken though.

In school and later on in college, I would sit in my room while studying for my exams all the while thinking how I'd love it if they were all written, without me having to appear in front of my professors and answer their questions. Which is funny, because I studied law, where public speaking isn't excluded.

Overcoming Fear Of Failure

It's always been there with me,
A second shadow trailing behind.
Fear of failure was and still is
The bane of my existence.

Hard to shake off no matter what,
Blocking my potential to do good,
Tests and anything public was
Always a living nightmare.

Despite being aware of how much
I might or might not know,
Fear of forgetting something crucial
Has a tight grip on my mind.

It's not like failing at something is
The end of it all, 'cause it's not.
While I understand it all in theory,
Practice is something I'm bad at.

Nevertheless, I'm doing my best
Not to let it get to me.
Humor is what helps me
Soften the blow.

I try to laugh it off,
Hype myself up that next time
Things will turn out in my favor,
Which they usually do.

There's still a lot of work to be done
In order to eliminate the enemy.
Fear might win more battles,
But the war will be won by me.

You Can Do It!

Just don't let yourself be discouraged by negative thoughts.
