FATHER
The first rays of love
That radiate into life
And keep shining throughout,
Shine through his eyes,
In his tender care, as we grow,
In his strict tones, as we learn,
In his often wordless pride on success,
In his cautions regarding failures,
In his patience and support in struggles ....
That mountain of strength,
Ocean of affection,
Sky of support,
Glowing Sun of inspiration,
And guiding wind of integrity
Is FATHER!!
Love you, Pappa !!

Fathers are unsung super-heros.
And the task of putting that glory into words is pretty too difficult. I realized that as I tried to write something that could be a good enough expression.
I have seen quite a few fathers playing more sensitive and sensible roles in the lives of their kids than their mothers, just like many a mothers playing roles of both parents in the lives of their kids, owing to some well-known social / domestic problems. They appear like men with the heart of a mother, perhaps a heart softer than that of a mother. I salute all those fathers.
My father, truly, is my super-hero. He is an Engineer - a Mechanical Engineer - a successful professional, a poet and a composer and was an excellent singer, before singing lost its place in the domain of his priorities. I still sing and teach the three English songs he wrote for me, as I grew up. I have presented several of his lyrics and compositions, in live programmes, in audio albums and on All India Radio, over the years. He is deeply spiritual, though silent about his prayerfulness.
He is an inspiration to me and our family, as also to many, many others, for his expertise and his dedication towards work, his wisdom and his simplicity.
There are so many memories and so much that I can write about him. May be some other day.
