Falling Down To Get Back Up

Author:

Pushed down, face to earth

can not breath

torn shirt, with ripped jeans

lay still they will move on

footsteps move further away

a sigh of relieve takes charge

stand up once more

stand up

dust the mud off

tattered hair and dried tears

a gentle hand comes along

with soft words, they whisper to you

stand up

the rise is unsteady

one hand placed over the other

you stand

Thank you so much!!!! That is exactly what I was going for. I wanted it to be inspirational. I wanted the reader to be able to interpret however the poem made them feel.

I love this! So many ways to interpret this. My favorite is reading it as a motivational and inspirational piece. Reminds me of the Rascal Flatts song.

Thanks so much! I wanted to leave it open for each person to have their own interpretation.

This could mean multiple things, a mystery, drama, or simply self attainment. Well, that's the beauty of poetry. Good one.
