Inspiration:
The inspiration for all of these lyrics comes from not only the Bible but also from life around me. I always try to carry a notebook or my cell phone with me so when I get a spark of song I jot it down. While I’d like to say all the little sparks turn into a full set of lyrics they don’t some end up as poems or pseudo song lyrics. I hope the lyrics in this article gives you some inspiration and solace in this upside down world we currently find ourselves in,
Proverbs 3:27, Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.
Does It Matter
There are many here among us
Who have given up all hope
They see each day as a day
Of learning how to cope
Take a good look around
Up and down the streets,
See all the people, You can tell
They are running on empty
We live in a world gone wrong
The reason is simple
The answer is plain as day
We’ve taken eyes off of
The truth, the life and the way
Does it matter to you
Does it matter to me
Does it matter where the lost
Will spend eternity
Jesus said we need to share
But how can we
When we’ve forgotten how to care
See the people expensive shoes
On their feet
See the children who don’t
Have enough to eat
Does it matter to you
Does it matter to me
Does it matter are you
starting to see
See the people no roof over their heads
Think about it as you laying in your warm beds
See the people who have forgotten Jesus name
Go and tell them why he came
Does it matter to you
Does it matter to me
Does it matter, does it matter
The idea for this song came from conversations I’ve had with people who are crying out to God for peace in these troubled times.
Crying
Crying, crying
In a loud voice
Out to God
Come down and heal me
Come down and ease my soul
Ease my soul
I feel so all alone
Trapped within my own mind
No one can hear me
No one can feel my pain
I want to call out
Tell others how I do feel
But deep inside I fear
No one will understand
The trouble I’m going through
It is why I’m
Crying, crying
In a loud voice
Out to God
Come down and heal me
Come down and ease my soul
Ease my soul
I’m crying
Crying, crying out
In a loud voice
Out to God
Come down and heal me
Come down and ease my soul
Ease my soul
Prompt: The inspiration for these lyrics come from the idea about how we never feel we can do enough to serve the Lord. When in the end we all serve a big life when we do the little things we do in faith.
Big Life
Big Life
Big life
Livin a big life
When you’re
Livin for the Lord
Don’t think your life
Is so, so small
You can’t do some
Big, big things
You can, you can
Big life
Big life
Livin a big life
When you’re
Livin for the Lord
We all want to live
A big life
Serving the Lord
But when our life doesn’t
Work out that way
We are so quick to say
Our life has
No meaning, no worth
But the Lord works
In the small things
We say and we do
Just listen to the Lord’s voice
His leading
Will see you through
You’ll be on your way to a
Big life
Big life
Livin a big life
When you’re
Livin for the Lord
Don’t think your life
Is so, so small
You can’t do some
Big, big things
You can, you can
Big life
Big life
Livin a big life
When you’re
Livin for the Lord
Prompt: The idea for this song comes from the special love Jesus has for all man kind which saw Him come and give His life.
Sweet, Sweet Love
We all need love
To carry Us through life
Lots of folks would rather have
Money, power or any number of things
For me there is only thing
Which makes my heart sing
The sweet, sweet love of Jesus
Sweet, sweet love
Sweet, sweet love
Sweet, sweet love
Of Jesus
He’s my all, my everything
He’s all the world to me
Nothing in this world is able
To take his place
No fortune
No fame
It would not, could not
Be the same
As the sweet, sweet love
Of Jesus
The sweet, sweet love of Jesus
Sweet, sweet love
Sweet, sweet love
Sweet, sweet love
Of Jesus
Prompt: The idea for this song come from the idea of how reading the Bible is not enough.
The Word
You hear the Word
Yeah, sure it’s okay
But what do you do
With the Word of God
Each and every day
Do you read it?
Do you study it?
Do you take it to heart?
Do you love it?
Do you share it?
Do you let it not depart?
You hear the Word
Yeah, sure it’s okay
But what do you do
With the Word of God
Each and every day
Do you believe it?
Do you trust it ?
Do you see it as truth?
Do you use it?
Do you seek it?
Do you accept it as is?
God’s Word never changes
It’s the same today as before
Though many try to change it
Or write it off as an old folklore
One question is left to ask you
One question for you this day
You hear the Word
Yeah, sure it’s okay
But what do you do
With the Word of God
Each and every day
