Fabulous Flowers of February—Poem

Fabulous February is here,

With blossoms all around,

Fragrant, alive, and bright;

Some oh, so delicate, and some fiery,

Colours of Nature, spread all around,

Some flamboyant, some fluorescent;

But so harmonious, and so fresh,

Spreading their aroma all around,

Roses, Lilies, and Pansies;

Jasmines, Bulbs, and Daffodils,

The Witch hazel, and Dahlias,

The vibrant, fragrant blossoms;

They smile at me, as I walk past them,

My soul gets calm and rejuvenated,

And I love to sing a song.

Thank you BRENDA, for your kind words of appreciation.

Spring season in India, has already started and we can see blossoms all around. I love to grow flowers. Those in the pictures are mostly seasonal, but I also plant those, which can give me flowers, throughout the year. The month of February gives, some of the most wholesome and beautiful flowers. I always make sure to click their pictures, as soon as they blossom.

I am sure, sooner the spring season would be knocking on your door.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing your thoughts.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on February 17, 2020:

Chitrangada,

Oh how you make me long for warmer weather.

I cannot wait until I can have flowers in my garden.

I love the pictures. They are beautiful.

The video at the end with the crocuses dancing is good too.

My poor flowers cant decide whether to stay in the ground or sprout up since our winter has been quite mild.

Temperatures up and down. Single digit windy and cold one day then mild warmer temperatures the next.

I am waiting for spring.

Thanks for the share.

Thank you Cynthia, for your kind visit and positive feedback! I am glad you liked the article.

Yes, the beautiful flowers can be seen blossoming all around nowadays in India. The flowers you mention here, in your part of the World, are all my favourites.

Wish you an enjoyable Spring season. Thanks for stopping by!

Cynthia Zirkwitz from Vancouver Island, Canada on February 21, 2018:

Lovely happy celebration of the joy of flowers in verse and pictures! I appreciate your information about the timeline for Spring and the flowers you see around you in your part of India.

On Vancouver Island we have a fresh layer of snow, but did have our early snowdrops before that, and will welcome tulips, daffodils, rhododendrons, camelias, and other Spring blooms soon. Also cherry blossoms! Spring is a flower feast here as well, but a little later than when you experience the tide of blooms.

I would love to smell witch hazel fragrance!

I have become a fan of big, showy dahlias and am hopeful that a flaming red one that bloomed in my garden last year will come back bigger and more dramatic this year!

All the best,

Cynthia

I really liked the poem that you wrote along with all of your marvelous photos. We have lots of colorful flowers just about year round in our Houston climate. Our city will become even more colorful when the millions of azaleas are in bloom in March. I have some in our garden that bloom several times a year...even during winter months. Sharing this glorious hub of yours.

Thank you Missy Smith, for your wonderful comment!

Flowers always inspire us, don't they! I was touched to read the second paragraph of your comment.

Flowers look most fabulous on the plant where they grow. I hate to pluck them and make bouquets of them. Their life is so short but so beautiful and rejuvenating.

Thank you and have a lovely day!

Missy Smith from Florida on February 08, 2016:

What a lovely hub, Chitrangada. I am not a green thumb at all, so I am quite jealous of all your beautiful grown flowers in your garden. I wish I felt I could do that. I always think about trying a flower garden. I was also unaware of all the pretty flowers that would grow in February. Wow!

I like wildflowers the best. Daisies have been my favorite since I was just a little girl. I remember a little purse my mom bought for me when I was around five years old; light blue with daisies on it. She knew I liked daisies. :) I always want to pick the wildflowers that I see on the side of the road in the countryside, but I usually leave them and just enjoy the beauty of them when I ride by.

Awesome poetry with lovely images of flowers. You presented the month of February so elegantly. I appreciate it.

"It is simply impossible to describe the beauty of flowers or capture their beauty in photographs." However, you did a marvelous job capturing the colors. The colorful pansies are somewhat mystical.
