Everything is Tired

Israel is a fan of many types of music and loves to write, not in any particular order and does them usually at the same time.

I slowly take a step forward,

Slower than the last,

That step slower than the previous,

I come to a stop,

One knee buckles and gravity pulls it down,

The other knee soon follows suit,

There I am standing on my knees looking down to the ground,

I slowly raise my head to the sky,

Face in anguish,

I let out a deep breath,

My body is tired,

It aches,

I am covered in soot,

A layer of dirt accompanies it,

Both shoes are missing,

Socks are tattered and worn,

I can no longer support the weight of my upper body,

My hands catch my descent to the floor,

The ground stares back at me,

I take a deep breath in,

My heart is tired,

Nothing left to give,

It must be in a million pieces,

Is it even there?

Everything has gone awry,

Nothing is as it should be,

This was not how it was supposed to be,

I question everything,

Drops land next to me,

Then they claim my body,

And before you know it,

The rain is making its presence well known,

My soul is tired,

The life force depleted beyond measure,

Twisted and wrung out,

Different shades of black,

I clench the dirt below me,

The drenched earth oozes between my fingers,

Water envelopes me as it falls off,

A small pool throws my reflection back at me,

I take a deep breath in,

Deep breath out,

breath in,

breath out..

Most expressive poetry. I think all through our lives a lot of things reflect back on us.
