Every Day She Hopes
Every Day She Hopes
Every day she hopes
Every day she waits
Every night she sleeps
Her heart so heavy
Hoping that tomorrow, will be a better day
7’Oclock, a jembe and the child on her back
It is only a short distance
20KM …….It is not that far
With her swelled feet she walks
For her to find a savior
1’Oclock the baby cries
It needs food she cannot get
Her sagging breast is all
And a rumbling stomach is the pay
6’Oclock, the night is fast approaching
A jembe, the baby and herself is all
There is no dawn to look forward to
The beauty and the glory of the sun is marred
Such is life, such is her life
The future is like a dark night without the moon.

This poem is legit accurate. Some women live this kind of life. Its sad. Poverty trully is not a joke.
