Every Now and Then

Every now and then, not often enough
We see a glimpse of the new world
The one we were made of
The one we deserve
Until reality makes us swerve
Missing our turn, with the sign that says love

The path alongside crashing waves on the sand
Or where the forest is nourished by the land
Leads to earthen rock and not silt or clay
Stretching before us where our home will be built
Upon hopes and dreams that finally came true
Where footprints are never washed away

We will always remember this place
If you are there once, you are there always
As our hearts touch so are they again
By ice from a glacier or the flame of a fire
The burning sensation forever to inspire
The wild calling of a world we will soon begin
