End of Decade

I am an online writer who enjoys expressing my thoughts through poetry, sharing travel experiences and more.

end-of-of-decade

Feeling in a haze

With emotions a bit heavy

For the end of the decade

I am now ready

There have been good times

Along with times that were sad

Trying my best

To overall be glad

Movement has been slow

As I’ve raced against time

Stuck in muddy moments

But will soon be time to shine

A chance for change

And a time to renew

A hope for courage and clarity

To embrace a path true.

Soon to be a new decade

A brand new day and year

As we close in on 2020

I send a wish for good cheer

Excellent poem. By the way, you share the same last name with my step-father! He was originally from Philadelphia.

I enjoyed reading your poem very much. I can certainly understand the sensation of being "stuck in muddy moments". I love the optimistic ending of the poem.
