End of April Couplets 2022
My name is Jamie Lee Hamann and I started sharing poetry articles back in 2013. Every year I share a poem a day in April.
End of April Couplets 2022
This April brought a record spring snowfall
to share the notes of Nightingale's call
I say this life is but a written page
of us trying to earn a living wage
to take some tome from busy day to read
a breath, sufficient money for our need
to witness as I spread my wings and fly
release to air a whimper and a cry
to understand these feelings that I share
a passion to create a world that's fair
only lost echoes of my lonely rants
this is my plea I have only one chance
will heat my morning as I start to run
the weight of grief rides upon shoulder's ton
my poetry seen once then out of sight
the only training I have for this fight
through work and trying to eat healthy foods
and find a routine to tame all my moods
to realize this path is as I feared
and every obstacle in road is never cleared
early morning birds begin to sing
as morning bells in mind begin to ring.
