Elvis Titles - A Poem
A poem where every line is the title of an Elvis song.
Welcome to my world
do you know who I am?
Just call me lonesome
doing the best, I can.
I just can’t help believing
don’t ask me why.
There is no god but god
I believe in the man in the sky.
Take my hand, precious lord
lead me, guide me
Reach out to Jesus
he knows just what I need.
In my father’s house are many mansions
where no one stands alone.
Gonna walk dem golden stairs
it’s no secret what god can do.
Crying in the chapel
If the lord wasn’t walking by my side
somebody bigger than you and I
he is my everything

Nice one Charlie.
You are really good at these.

Thanks John. I enjoyed the challenge of using just song titles and trying to make a story.
John Hansen from Queensland Australia on December 14, 2019:
Great work, Charlie. I did a similar poem with Buddy Holly song titles. I loved Elvis, and I like the selection of his gospel songs for this one. Thanks also for the American Trilogy video....that is the ultimate.
