I'm a young author making a break in the world of writing. I have experience writing short stories, books, poetry, and reviews.

A Drop of Poison

A drop of poison

In the vial

Oh it is discreet

Makes one frail

A simple tool

For those with patience

Drop it in

No hesitation

For those who do you wrong

Invite them over for a meal

Oh! A new seasoning

It will give the dish new appeal

Tastes good, doesn’t it?

Want to know what was in it?
You don’t look so good.

Maybe lay down for a bit?

Don’t cross one who knows their herbs

You’ll just become the fertilizer

You underestimate, but-

Knowing poisons makes me wiser

A drop of poison in the vial

Can right the injustices in the town

It has been done lots in the past

Let us poisoners bring it back around.

This poem is inspired by reading a little bit about Giulia Tofana, a professional poisoner who was so good that she had a poison named after her.
