Driving on Roads of Life: A Poem

Val enjoys writing his own style of what resembles poetry, just hoping to catch someone's heart on the same page.

Driving my car reminds me of my inner reality

heart providing gas, and mind choosing way

it's two of them determining the quality

of experiencing life from day to day.

Brake is to slow down our hasty drive

and also to stop us from going too far

but using them much before we arrive

may show how hesitant in life we are.

Headlights remind us of the proper life direction

for it's the future where we go, and it's ahead

driving backwards to past needs correction

that's why big lights are at front instead.

High octane gas is our quality food

as garbage in our veins won't take us far

and pressing more on gas won't do much good

if it's the junk in out tank that's slowing down our car.

To avoid paying in future some big bucks

car needs oil to prevent friction and stress

without stress management our life sucks

causing in whole system a really big mess.

But it's also traffic and how we fit in

into configuration of cars on the road

do we drive defensively not to get hit

or we prefer an inconsiderable mode.

For roads of life are meant to be shared

and driving with fairness we walk the line

but if we're driving arrogantly as if impaired

sooner or later we may pay more than a fine.
