Don't Cry Too Late

How long should we cry
For the people we want to cry for
I hope they can see us now
Saying more than ever before

We should sing a happy song
Because the pain is finally gone
Let’s sing a happy song
Unless you think it’s wrong
Unless you think it’s wrong

We said we’re praying for you
And we did as long as we could
But what we left in God’s hands
Was maybe more than we should

We hold back too much while we’re here
What is dying if we cry too late for the living

We should sing a happy song
Because the pain is finally gone
Let’s sing a happy song
Unless you think it’s wrong
Unless you think it’s wrong

Thank you Nellieanna! I appreciate your support over the years. Yes, it's an exercise in moving on. You can love like that and find that there is still much richness to life after it is over.

An excellent poem, Mark, expressing universal feelings during and following universally disappointing or cut-short relationships. Learning to 'get over it' and find happiness is key to continuing living positively oneself, which is never wrong, IMHO.
