Do You See With Your Eyes Wide Open?

Donna is a lifelong poet and writer, she shares her love of God, and in helping others draw from His strength to get past life's struggles.

Do You See with Your Eyes Wide Open?

Have you ever watched a sparrow, dance in the wind?
Do you revere all this beauty, in awe of what our Savior did?
Have you ever danced delightfully in the pouring rain?
Does it bring joy to your heart and puts a smile upon your face

Have you ever gazed at your child as they lay sleeping in the night?
Such beauty, such grace happiness that brings tears to your eyes
Do you ever marvel at the beauty that surrounds you every day?
Are you thankful for what God has done for you, do you kneel when you pray?

Have you ever made a wish upon a falling star?
Did you wish for peace and love and pray for no more war?
Do you see with your eyes wide open all the blessing God has bestowed?
Do you know that you are loved, and his love forever grows?

God has numbered the stars and remembers their count
Just like he knows your name and where your heart can be found
Do you ever feel the warmth of the sun, dance upon your face?
That makes you smile to know that you are saved by Grace

Do you ever hear music that drops you to your knees?
As you bow down to worship God doesn’t it bring your spirit peace?
Have you ever watched the dew gracefully land on a blade of grass?
All the while as your children plays outside; that’s where the purity of the heart is at

Do you remember all the beauty that God has caused your eyes to see?
He made all this beauty for everyone for time and eternity
Can you imagine what He has in store for you when you get to heaven
If we but follow Jesus and delight in his presence

Have you ever watched the sunset over the ocean shore?
Watching the colors come alive, while the oceans roar
Do you ever stop to wander in the meadow?
Watching the daffodils dance with the weeping willows

Oh, there is so much beauty that surrounds us; in which we should savor
Keep looking to the skies and prepare for your loving Saviour
Make each moment count; don’t waste any time
Always remember to give the gift of love…. For our Savior taught us why…

"Let me paint you a picture - a picture with words"

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of writing poetry!
