Preface

Discipline is the most important entity or aspect in our lives and the whole journey of life transforms drastically in a positive way if one adheres to it. For many of us inculcating discipline might appear like a difficult task but once learnt and conceived, it shows its fruits soon. I have tried to bring some of these ideas in this 16 line inspirational cum motivational poem in a bit of rythm to excite and invigorate our minds in that direction. The doctrine of discipline undoubtedly sits on a higher strata looking down at the world in a broader fashion and perspective.

Discipline doctrine

Most difficult to inculcate in our lives,

Is the acquiring the trait of self discipline.

It cannot be forced by anyone on us,

As it only gets nurtured from within.

Those who possess it are Godly creatures,

Happy in their own ways in this world.

They can face all the challenges,

All wars, just by using that sword.

Discipline has power to pause the time,

In its strange and effective ways.

It is a perpetual continuous entity,

Just alike mighty Sun rays.

The followers of discipline doctrine,

Are the experienced brave warriors.

Not only they defeat the enemy,

But also, are the flag carriers.

Our world doesn’t have a lot of self-discipline these days. We rely on excuses and low expectations. Maybe we should expect more.

Jay C OBrien from Houston, TX USA on October 11, 2020:

Good thoughts. Let me suggest that Discipline be helpful, Not harmful. Helpful means constructive. Harmful means to use violence, pain, or torment. The Discipline of God is Mercy and self analysis. All stories in any book which depict decipline by God as violent, harmful, torture, is Blasphamy. Sin is Not relieved by torment, but by Mercy and Forgiveness.

Kalpana Iyer from India on October 11, 2020:

Well written! Self-discipline is a rare trait. I admire anyone who is a master at this skill because at this day and age everyone is so distracted and all over the place. It becomes difficult to maintain discipline.
