Destiny in Stars: A Poem

Val is a life-long practically oriented student of effective emotional and attitudinal responses to the many challenges of life.

On so many starry nights

with curious mind as could be

I searched in those twinkling stars

for something like the mystery of me.

But they all were remaining mute

secretive and strange as ever

winking and a kind of cute

asking me to get clever.

Truth of me was not up there

written in those jewels of night

I had to search for it elsewhere

if I wanted to get my answer right.

And yet those stars kept teasing me

with their ever mysterious look

what if key just hard to see

could open their book.

I looked around and I looked inside

and then to my biggest delight

my truth came out of hide

all clear and so bright.

Romantic moonlight in its glory

mirrored in my youthful glee

read aloud my secret story

of path destined for me.
