Despot

Beware the man
Who glorifies war
Who feels a reason
But what is it for?
Who can justify
A rotten mans core
He eats his own apple
His garden is his store
The snake is his friend
And so is his war

He accuses us first
Then slaps my cheek
He turns it all around
When objections we speak
His pride became sharp
His mind began to leak
The flood on the floor
Prove his morals are weak
The snake is his friend
And so is his gift of sleep

His plans growing dim
He threatens destruction
The glory of his victory
Is shames construction
He misread the signs
His prey now an obstruction
The fire of his immortality
Now ashen corruption
The snake is his friend
And so is it's poison

Blessed are the peacemakers
So sayeth our Lord
But can a man of God
Wield a shining sword?
Can the good survive
If there is no reward
For loving thy neighbor
In the middle of discord?
The snake is his friend
And so are nails for a board
