Darkness of the Heart

I am a poet who writes not only about the things that trouble me but those things you also might or might not know about

DARKNESS

Darkness tonight comes with icy hands

Gripping our souls with unusual heaviness

Handling us fear like from those days

Days when we were slaves of our minds

What shall we call this?

Darkness lurks above our heads

Swirling around like dark cannivorous hawks

Making our hearts empty and void

Let our shackles not come again

Darkness tonight is flooding

Taking away our solace

Our then do we summon the flicker of light?

Maybe then we shall be free again.
