Poem: Dare I Dream
I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.
Dare I dream
the impossible dream?
As a young girl I pictured myself
wearing a beautiful silk, Cinderella ballroom dress,
a form fitting silhouette
with bare shoulders,
the bottom a long, puffy skirt
blue pastel in color
highlighted with a touch
of airy light pastel shades
which swept along the floor
as I danced with my Prince Charming,
perhaps on my wedding day.
I have lived over half my life,
my dream
is fading into the distance,
finding no Prince Charming
worth the expense.
The design now vintage,
my dream seems impossible
as I look into the distance.
Should I give up?
Absolutely Not!
Nothing is impossible,
it is never too late.
I will dare to dream
the impossible dream.
