Cradle You in My Arm

This poetry is a personal poem I wrote about the loss of my mother.

I held your hand that day, walked you to your chair
You were weak and sweaty
Your pulse I couldn't read
You told me your tired and still you smiled
You held onto my arm

I called 911
........you collapsed in my arm...
I cradle you, I comfort you
I assure you, you'll be okay...
Help is coming....they're coming...

Second turn to minutes and minutes feels like hours
My heart cries for help....
And when the paramedic took you out of my arm...
Your lifeless body lies...

The feeling of separation....
Far far away
To no return
A mother and a daughter...

Hurts...

Frozen...

Unbearable pain
