Civility of Truth

It was a coup d’etat
The overthrow of my voice
By my recollection of dignity
I finally realized it’s my choice
But I didn’t tell anyone
It was change above ocean deep
In the middle of the night
By clouds, silent as they creep
But also over high mountains
High because they are
It all became so simple
The truth is my guiding star
Without intention to hurt
For civility is never at fault
I will defer to it’s wishes
And keep pain in its vault
