I remember
Your favorite color is blue,
I remember
The moment I fell in love with you,

I remember
That smile on a sunny day,
And how the sight of it
Would take my breath away,

I noted your first words
And the first time you held my thumb,
And all the precious memories
That were yet to come,

Now a grown man
yet all I seem to see,
Is that precious little boy
Who always ran to me,

And now you take the next step
With your sweet wife,
I bless you on your journey
As you welcome new life,

May you witness great joy
As a baby girl is placed in your hands,
May you whisper in her ears
All your great plans,

To teach her how to ride a bicycle
And how to wear a shoe,
And find her favorite color
is green and not blue,

And when she is older
Don't get mad at her so easy,
Though her teenage ways
May drive you crazy,

May she always realize
The heart of her mother,
and find her sense of security
In my son, her father.

What a special poem this is. Full of sentimental greatness. Of course, I'm the mushy sort sometimes so I did enjoy this. Every mother can connect to these words, I'm sure.
