Army Soldiers’ Tribute

It was like an epic scene from a surreal dream;

spreading its wings, the eagle sang its song, with tear-filled eyes.

It sang out the words “freedom is bought with blood”;

crystals filled my eyes too, as I sang out these same words

“freedom is bought with blood”.

Army Soldiers’ Tribute

For our freedom and safety,
each hero valiantly
 surveys and combs

life-threatening situations
 in the most dangerous
of zones!

Though words
cannot express their bravery,
 these heroes of the frontline,

I give them my utmost gratitude,
 described only vaguely,
 in this humble rhyme.

— Yancosky

Army Soldiers’ Tribute

Braving their tough course

Watchin’ for attacks

Giving of their lives

Have we their backs?

Honing skills to function smoother

Utilizing best maneuvers

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

Engaging all foes

Listening for signs

Tracking and reporting

Directing action

Of weapons on their rivals

Navigating their survival

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

Assisting in removal of mines

Constructing of field fortifications

Securly preparing camouflage

Loading and firing means

Maintaining transportations

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

Carrying out all reconnaissance

Rivals kept under surveillance

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

Say, have we ever ever ever ever their backs?

Why wait ‘till they fall wounded?

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

All for freedom that we treasure

These brave lives cannot be measured

Cavalry Scouts see and hear ahead

Army Soldiers’ Tribute

Soldiers bravely take to the battlefield and fight;

these Paladin heroes battle day and night!

While they proudly prove love to their country, and its truth,

mothers pray on their knees, and brave each war, too.

Really enjoyed this. I was with a Helicopter squadron, literally the 'eyes and ears' of the cavalry!

I was in the British Army but once got the chance to work with famous US 7th

air cavalry.

A beautiful poem to help express our gratitude to the military. How can we thank those that work so hard to let us sleep peacefully at night?

Come home safe!

Great Write. We must be so much thankful for these fellows.

Laying mines is so inhuman.
