Can’t Get No Relaxation: A Poem

There are times when it seems the day is so overwhelming. These are short song lyrics which attest how stressful life can be sometimes.
I can’t get no relaxation
I can’t get no relaxation
Oh, I’ve tried and I’ve tried
But I can’t get no, get no
Relaxation
The words are dancing in my head
The baby’s crying for more bread
The house appears to be a mess
I always seem to be hard pressed
I can’t get no relaxation
I can’t get no relaxation
Oh, I’ve tried and I’ve tried
But I can’t get no, get no
Relaxation
My daughter needs help with math
The dog needs to take a bath
Dinner is burning in the pot
The rug has a few new spots
I can’t get no relaxation
I can’t get no relaxation
Oh, I’ve tried and tried
But I can’t get no, get no
Relaxation
Dishes piled in the sink
Think I need a real stiff drink
Wash is piling up on the floor
Want to run screaming out the door
I can’t get no relaxation
I can’t get no relaxation
Oh, I’ve tried and tried
But I can’t get no, get no
Relaxation
Time is such a fleeting thing
Each day the same but new again
I can’t get no relaxation
I can’t get no relaxation
Oh, I’ve tried and tried
But I can’t get no, get no
Relaxation
