Broken Loki, a Poem
I got into the MCU fairly recently and although I have never read the comics, I have thoroughly enjoyed the movies. One character that really stood out to me was Loki from the Thor movies. He just seemed so tragic. And don't get me wrong, Tom Hiddleston is very good looking, but being asexual and aromantic, that doesn't really matter to me. I was really drawn to Loki's backstory and trauma. I really felt for him in a way I haven't felt about a fictional character in a long time. So here is a poem inspired by Loki.
Broken
Your rough calloused fingers,
gently wipe away tears.
You pull me so close,
I think you forgot how to fear.
I’m shattered,
insane,
I know what they say.
Psychotic,
Neurotic,
Deranged beyond reason.
And don’t you forget,
The path I took to get here.
You ignored me, and
scorned me, and
pushed me away.
Despised and disdained,
by those who were lesser.
So now I am broken,
you think you can have your way.
I’m not a toy to be played with
Recommended
I don’t forget your little ways.
Don’t try to deceive me,
Like I have forgotten,
The hate and the loathing
you carried so often.
Yet you hold me so softly,
and run you fingers through my hair.
And calmly you whisper,
“I’ll always be here”.
I want to believe this isn’t a dream.
That you truly love me
For all that I am.
But deep down inside,
I have my doubts,
Because how could you love,
The monster,
parents tell their children about at night.
I hope you enjoyed the poem as much as I enjoyed writing it. It has been a pleasure. Till next time, addio mi amigos! (I don't actually speak Spanish so goodbye :0)
