Excellent poem, and I must say, an informative one about music.

Loved going through the glossary.

I believe music to be an expression of the soul, and I love all it’s forms, with a special preference for classical, folk and gazals.

Thank you for sharing this.

Lora Hollings on September 01, 2020:

Your poem shows not only an extraordinary love for music, but a great ear for it too! I love music and it is so entwined with life just as your poem. Whenever I get some free time, I love to play the piano and I've even composed some songs. Just listening to music makes me feel better. I voted for varies based on situation. But my favorite types of music are classical, folk, and jazz. Beautifully written, my friend!

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on September 01, 2020:

What a wonderful poem. I love the structure and using the last word of a line to begin the next two. Who doesn’t love music. For me what I listen to varies with the situation.

Thank you so much dear Marley for your love and affection. Yes dear, music is life for me. You know today I listened to classical music for about an hour while walking. I get dissolved in the tune, as if I m part of that. Guess every music lover Experiences the same.

Lots of love and blessings.

Your poem reads like a beautiful symphony Anupam. Music has always played an important part in my life. I studied music and still play the piano today. I love the meanings behind the various types of music, ending with the glossary. Great writing.

Only a person who understands the nuances of music could write, with such finesse, a poem like this. It is beautiful. I enjoyed every word.

Ann Carr, it is nice to see you here.

I too love each and every aspect of music. It's a kind of driving force for my life. I love it in every situation with every emotion.

On Amazon Prime, a web series in hindi had been released and I was mesmerized by it's musical trailer.

I watched the whole series of ten episodes in just two days.

You might not understand the language but I bet you will love the music. I got mad listening to the songs.

Lots of love and blessings dear.

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on September 01, 2020:

Please go ahead...

I would love to read them..

Lots of love and blessings.

Ann Carr from SW England on September 01, 2020:

Great poem, covering so many aspects of music and its uses and effects. I love the rhythm and the mixed emotions.

I voted for 'varied', though I suppose I love rock music and soul the most, but then I love The Beatles and some folk and some heavy metal..... Let's say I have an eclectic taste!

Well done with this!

Liliane Najm from Toronto, Canada on September 01, 2020:

Anupam, you inspire me to write poetry.
