Star Trek Theme Song
Opposites Attract!
Spock, and I,
go together,
oh, so very well;
He is very logical,
and I am an emotional
roller coaster
from Heaven,
or from hell!
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Boundaries
He is level-headed
and walks
an ever rigid line;
I swerve to the left or right,
since my boundaries
are blurry,
and often
difficult to define.
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Self-Control
Spock is sophisticated
and carries
such amazing self-control;
I am spontaneous
and free,
and ever which way
the thunder groans
is the way I tend to roll!
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Emotions
I like to awaken
him, though feelings
he has not;
And, he likes to quiet
and calm me,
when deep
within emotions
I am so frantically caught.
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Balance
Opposites are Spock, and I,
though we balance
each other out;
I, displaying a full
spectrum of emotions,
and he, showing me what
an unemotionally logical life
is really all about!

Opposites Really Do Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
When Spock is on a Mission,
he is always calm, cool,
and in-check;
Yet, I have an ongoing
Focus and Attention
Deficit.
His memory is spotless,
impeccable, and never,
ever suspect;
But, I need to take constant notes,
or else nothing will I even
vaguely recollect!
Spock is attentive to each detail
on his every Mission,
and admired with great respect;
However, my own thoughts
wander, everywhere, and often
do not entirely connect!
His Missions continually
create a successful,
respected affect;
And, he logically guides me,
so that the Mission details,
I, myself, do not accidentally forget!
Spock is dedicated to
his every goal, and each one
he will loyally protect;
But, my mission is Spock, himself,
and it is him, whom I will never,
ever neglect!

Opposites Really Do Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Opposites Attract!
Spock really helps keep me together, especially with all the important Missions in which we are responsible! But, I also am of benefit to him, as well. I try to keep him in-touch with his more “human side”. He likes that about me... I think.

Such a cute way of telling this poem.
I enjoyed the read.

Thank you, Mark. What a delightful comment from you, as always.

Sounds like a perfect balance and not unlike many happy couples I know.

Thank you, and I hope you had a fantastic Christmas, too. Yes, I did as I spent it with my family. There is nothing better than being with my family.
Yes, Spock let me a present under my Christmas tree. It was an Electronic Price Scanner, and a computer program on “How to Better Budget Money”. Lol.

LOL...Dream On.. I think there is more to Spock than meets the eye, really. Ha haha.

Your writings go in such detail I can see every conversation going back and forth. I am curious how much time did it take to complete this mission? You did a wonderful job from beginning to end. You kept my interest. I kept on waiting Spock to finally break down. In time I think he will come around. Fantastic! I grew up watching Star Trek. Captain Kirk would be jealous of you taking the spot light.

I was wondering if Spock left a Christmas gift under your tree ? Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and so much fun.
BBYCGN (author) from Uninhabited Regions on December 20, 2017:
Larry,
Your company is the best Christmas gift, ever!
Happiness,

And a joy for me to read your lovely prose. Keep writing so beautifully and I'll keep reading.

Larry,
There is a crisscrossed paradox looming throughout your comment. Lol... It’s always a joy for me to have your kindly visit :-)

Not unemotional as Spock, but Logic often rules and a calmness presides most of the time. Have always been a fan of Spock and Spader!!! Hmm, maybe I'm not as opposite as I think.
BBYCGN (author) from Uninhabited Regions on November 18, 2017:
Bill,
Thank you, my friend:-)
James Spader and Spock rock!

Today is children's day in india and your poems have a child like fun and you too have a great child like imaginations in your writings, which is so cool and original.
So happy children's day to you.

Thank you, Dora :-) Yes, I really do hope Spock comes around, and does not consider it too illogically sound to “call in sick” once in awhile to one of his Missions so that we might, perhaps, watch a romantic movie together, now and then (preferably Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory).
I have often dreamt of being an Oompa Loompa. I do not think Spock would think this to be an entirely logical career choice, however... lol.
Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on November 13, 2017:
Well done, Tamara! Pictures and all. I think Spock will come around--sometime.

Flourish,
How true! I dated two engineers in the past, at two separate times, of course, and though they don’t display much emotion, they definitely get done exactly what needs to be done.
They are extremely efficient. You might not necessarily get much width of shoulder-space to cry on, but they will build you a house.
LOL... Interesting bunch, those engineers :-)
BBYCGN (author) from Uninhabited Regions on November 12, 2017:
Thank you, Hari :-) Spock is fun!
FlourishAnyway from USA on November 12, 2017:
It sounds like you need an engineer if Spock is otherwise engaged. My husband and brother are engineers and my daughter is on her way to becoming one. What I love most about the rational, logical engineer is that you can specify what you want and if it makes sense they’ll deliver. (Now it may not be with empathy, but they’ll deliver.) They operate very much on behavior/consequence with low drama. Drama doesn’t make sense to them.
Hari Prasad S from Bangalore on November 12, 2017:
Coolest writing. So funny. :-) original stuff tamara.
