Better Than a Million Jars of Sugarcane Juice

Here I stand, lost in the aroma of Your silhouette.

Thy lips are like a scented garden,

From which I sense the redolence of flowers,

Blooming and blossoming like the breath of Spring.

I reflect briefly on the bud of jasmines.

The harsh winter is no more,

And the bees are diligent

In their melliferous terrain.

Today, like the bee, I’m busy also,

Enmeshed in the ocean of Thy sweetness.

One quite different from that of pollen,

And filled with the sugar of Paradise.

Aye, my Beloved, I have sampled a thousand jars of honey.

Yet the nectar that I am ravishing today,

Is better than a million sticks of sugarcane juice,

And I swoon and dance in the heart of Love.

-Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 18th February, 2018.

Sealing my Heart With Lips of Love. A Free Verse Sonnet

An array of colours;

A sacred flame from the palm of God's own Light,

Tugged at the fire of my Heart.

Releasing an unfolding canopy of clouds,

They filled by Soul with an ocean of longing,

The bliss of which remains anew.

Down in the valley of weeping nights,

I ascend on the dawn of awakening Delight.

The morning rays herald another glorious morn,

And now my tears are born from copious bliss.

O Hari, You descended into the eye of my abyss,

Carrying a radiant flow of lanterns.

Erasing the veil from this life of darkness;

Sealing my Heart with lips of Love.

_ Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 18th February, 2018.

"Things that have to be rejected, we reject; things that have to be transformed, we transform; things that have to be transcended, we transcend. In order to transcend, two things are necessary. Personal effort and God's Grace." - Sri Chinmoy

      Eric,

Thank you so much. Guruji was so fond of calling himself an eternal student and I say the same. I like to have beginner's mind. Still, your sublime comment is noted and respected very much. Much Gratitude ... much!!!

Note: I have recently received a review of one of my poems by a friend here, it is so ... so beautiful!!! Praise be!

      Yes, Dee.

I actually could have done it, for impact. I went for redolence (The jasmines), Light (the candle flame) and sugar (The melliferous bee) plus the flower. I added extra Love through the poetry of Hafiz and wisdom through Guruji's writings.

I try to make Monday's extra special. Yes, this theme of Light into darkness runs throughout my work. Just that I change the words. Cobwebs, abyss, ignorance, night, shadows ... here my weeping is born out of copious bliss.

Note, this has been a real experience for me. In the depth of Silence, tears always means Joy... sharing... blissful sorrow.

      Thank you so much!!

Manatita, after reading the title of the first poem, I looked for the picture of sugar cane or sugar cane juice, but I get it. No need to show an inferior source when you're experiencing something better.

In the second poem, I love the contrary motion of "weeping nights" and "dawn of awakening Delight." Always something to love about your poetry.

All very cool and mines especially. Guruji's are very deep, but you seem to understand them. You are very perceptive. Thank you so much, my Dear friend. Peace.

Oh, yes, "God gives us Light"...

after we become partakers of it He says "You are the light of the world"... then as His/our light shine before men, they see our moral excellence and our praiseworthy, noble and good deeds...

PS answer to your recent question dear Sir: I am writing , will start publishing after a green light be given me...

      Peace

An awesome piece of poetry starting from spring and natural beauty and then ending on love and dreams of impossible things.

Dreams are very important as they urge you to fulfill them and there you get success eventually.

Loved the poetry and piece of advice of Sri Chinmoy.

Keep it up my friend,, God Bless you.
