Being Frank

A play about with song titles.

Every line is the title of a song by Frank Sinatra

I’m always chasing rainbows

my funny valentine.

Days of wine and roses

I will drink the wine.

I fall in love to easily

all this and heaven too.

A sinner kissed an angel

exactly like you.

I’m a fool to want you

come rain or come shine.

My one and only love

till the end of time.

After you’ve gone

as time goes by.

Blame it on my youth

what kind of fool am I?

A tree in the meadow

A garden in the rain

No orchids for my lady

I’ll never smile again.

I just love Frank Sinatra! Probably the greatest singer ever in the genre of torch singing. What a voice and what a master interpreter! I love your idea of using just song titles and doing it in the form of poetry. You did a wonderful job of interweaving the titles into a very witty poem. My favorite tune that he sang, however, and I think it was written for him is "One for the Road." If you haven't heard it, you just have to listen to it! No one could sing it as well as he did.

So great. I love Frank Sinatra's music. This is a really cool tribute to Ol' Blue Eyes. I also love the rat pack. I love all types of music but I especially love that style. One of my favorite songs he recorded in 1956 was "You Make Me Feel So Young". I believe that it was originally written by Josef Myrow. But Frank in my opinion made it great.

Thanks Brenda.

It started off as a fun idea, but trying to find titles to rhyme and try to tell a story was enjoyable but also frustrating.

I applaud you for giving us a different style to write.

This must have taken some thought...it is not bad.

You are getting better with challenges.

Thanks for sharing.
