Begin Now

Don’t slow down
Don’t walk after you run
Don’t rest your bones
It’s not over, you’ve just begun

It’s not just your body
It’s your voice, your mind
Especially your heart
What you need, you will find

Waiting for colors
Your soul cannot understand
But who is the artist?
Is the brush still in your hand?

It’s not too late
Gather the puzzle pieces
Scattered by your life
But it’s not only what pleases

No, it is you
Your limits, your wings
All of it in the now
Like newly crowned kings

Perpetual self-doubt
Is there no greater enemy?
To say I am I
Is to control your destiny

Well said! You are the creator of your own destiny.

There is no time like the present to chase away those feelings of self- doubt which can hold us back. A motivational poem, uplifting and full of hope.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on October 27, 2020:

Great poem.

It is never too late to begin..so gather up those pieces.

You are so right...self doubt kills motivation.
