Because You Care

Shannon is a passionate individual whose feelings and thoughts tend spill onto the pages, often in the form of poetry and sometimes essays.

Write it down

Let it out

Say it now

Loud and clear

Clear the air

Have no fear

Because you care

Thanks, Brenda! Good to see you here.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on May 28, 2020:

Short and simple, but so true.

Always best to clear the air...not to sit wondering.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on August 22, 2018:

What a nice thing to say, Dream On. I usually enjoy a rainy day. I think they're perfect for sleeping or for reading a good book. I love to watch the lightning if it is storming and the clouds. I will send good thoughts and prayers your way for your wife's recovery.

DREAM ON on August 22, 2018:

You are just what I needed on this rainy day. I had plans but they are cancelled. My wife came down with pneumonia and I have a stiff neck. You just have to roll with the punches. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. It always makes me feel good.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 17, 2018:

So true, Ruby! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 17, 2018:

Hi, Jackie. Yes, from my heart on so many levels. Thanks.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 17, 2018:

I agree, Rasma! Thanks.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 17, 2018:

Thanks, manatita! Yes, I've found that most poetry is open to interpretation. I like that as much as the ones that don't need much interpretation. Thanks again.

Ruby Richert on April 17, 2018:

Short and explicit. Clearing the air is the beginning of understanding. Well done!!!!

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on April 17, 2018:

Beautifully expressed, short and sweet poem, with a clear message.

Thank You for sharing!

Jackie Lynnley from the beautiful south on April 17, 2018:

I feel it spoken from your heart! Never a better way to speak than in poetry.

Gypsy Rose Lee from Daytona Beach, Florida on April 17, 2018:

Caring is the best way to be.

manatita44 from london on April 16, 2018:

Open to interpretation, of course, but for me not necessary. It is a beautiful piece of poetry that speaks volumes in a positive Light.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 16, 2018:

I'll second that, Bill!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on April 16, 2018:

What better reason is there?

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 16, 2018:

Thanks, Nell. It's how my creative process often works. Whether I share what I write or not remains to be seen. LOL. Probably true because so many can relate.

Nell Rose from England on April 16, 2018:

Exactly! short, sweet but awesome and true!

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 16, 2018:

Thanks, Jodah. Believe it or not, this particular poem did not start out that way. I came across it last night in some papers I had filed away. I write things down quite often and don't always finish them right away. So although a short poem like this often does flow rather easily for me from start to finish, this one was taken from another longer one that I no longer liked or cared to finish. I kept the good lines and added a few to wrap it up. Haha. ;) I truly don't feel like it is one of my better ones.

I've thought about instagram for some of the shorter ones, but I don't use it all that often. Maybe I'll give it a try sometime soon.

Shannon Henry (author) from Texas on April 16, 2018:

Thank you, sellarykclark.

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on April 16, 2018:

Shannon, you are the expert at saying a lot in so few words. Your poems would be perfect on somewhere like Instagram. Love the Rascal Flats song too.
