Only Seeds on the Elysian Breath of Being

I wish I had known the reason for my afflictions –

The dark scarlet wounds of sunset, where life

Splattered scars of my anxiety, too numerous to mention.

Aye, I look back with jubilation, for the Beloved

Was only giving me feathers, so I could grow wings;

Hid me in a dark cocoon, so I could fly –a butterfly.

I wish I had known the reason for my afflictions –

The cries of torment, loneliness and fear; when

Pestilences raged and my mind ran wild with riot.

Aye, I look back with jubilation, for the Beloved

Sent Grace, to enlighten my understanding, like the

Light does with darkness. She dried my tears with

Tenderness, even as the soul wept from isolation.

I wish I had known the reason for my afflictions.

Yet adversity was my lamp concealed; my river of tears

A pathfinder, heralding an epitome of the virgin dawn.

My thorns were my yesterdays, shaping the roses of my

Tomorrows; my bitter-sweat desires, a panacea for my ails.

What would be the joy of Tottenham fans, to know that

The game was won, even before the ball was kicked?

The splendour of the moon does not shine in daylight,

As we’d miss the night's twinkle of shooting stars. Sunrise

Follows the dusk, even as the soul grows through struggle.

All is an exalted memory, on the supernal bank of Paradise;

The dark clouds of a virus begin as seeds, on the Elysian breath … of Being.

Beauty in all Things. A free-style Sonnet

There's beauty in all things. Hearts feel them

In the majesty of flowers and in the stars at nights.

Dawn heralds the symphony of nightingales, even

As the crescent moon withdraws into the firmament;

The radiant sun replenishes Mother Gaia.

There's also Light in our struggles, as Love awaits

At the Summit, even as we transcend our shadows,

On the ascent up the mountain, to bask in its pinnacle-rays.

So too, the seeds of Love, serve as a Kaleidoscope

Of hope; a beacon of contemplation and solace

To the Heart. Blend into this pageantry, is

The kernels of self-giving, diligence ... a

Touch of humour and a splice of sweet sacrifice ...

And we get myriad melodies to feed each soul.

Manatita44,

My thorns were my yesterdays, shaping the roses of my

Tomorrows;

This part is so touching. We should all embrace this carrying it with us each day.

Spirituality is fulltime. I agree.

There is always light on our path, we just need to stop and breathe it into our souls.

I enjoyed your writing today.
