After the Sunrise

After the sunrise
After the sunrise

After the sunrise
The dawn comes closer
Oh! How I loved it
Remembered a time
When the open fields used to call us
The first rays of sunlight welcomed us
With its charming warmth
The cold breeze stirred the core of our souls
And we were a happy little bunch
Always enthusiastic
Exploring new places with fresh energy
Every day was like a festival
Blooming with activity
With life proclaiming its presence everywhere.
But now my time has come
I try consoling my mind that
I just cannot continue
That the end is the reality
I find it hard to accept
That this Dawn could be so cruel
Stripping me of my eagerness to push one day more
But today will be harsh
As this Dawn will be the last
I have lived a happy Life.
So calming myself
I looked out of the window
To savor the beauty of the
Last dawn, slowly awaiting
For my sweet release.

I like the poem but, why is happiness ending at dawn? What are you expecting or is something planed?

      Thanks for sharing ...

Dawn is also the harbinger of change...change from the cold dark to the unexpected realities of broad daylight...What will today hold for me..? What surprises, people, places will I experience..? Carpe Diem, my friend...Larry
