The power of ‘One’
I am only one, But still I am one.
I cannot do everything, but I can do something, and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do, the something, I can do.
--Edward E Hale
Be That ‘One’—The Thought Behind the Poem
In the journey of life, there must have been several occasions, when we were hesitant to do something, or take the lead, or take up some difficult path, for the fear of failure, or being unsuccessful.
We often do not have the will, or the confidence to go ahead, alone. There is a tendency to think, that what can I do alone, because I am only ‘One.’
But, the reality is otherwise, as I am trying to convey in the following poem.
You need only ‘One’ seed, to grow a plant, which will give you many flowers, or fruits.
You need only ‘One’ tree to start a forest.
Only ‘One’ smile can brighten your mood.
Only ‘One’ ray of hope, can raise the spirits.
It requires only ‘One’ person to start a mass movement.
When I wake up in the morning, I can see only ‘One’ Sun, giving me hope for a good day, and only ‘One’ Rose from my garden, to brighten my day, and the sweet sound of that ‘One’ little bird, to bring a smile on my face.
The Significance of ‘One’—Poem
To begin a relationship,
You need 'One' Smile,
To end the darkness,
You need 'One' light,
To show that you care,
You need 'One' tender touch,
To uplift someone,
You need to give 'One' hand,
To make a difference,
You need just 'One' life,
To start a garden,
You need 'One' plant,
To start your journey,
You need to take that 'One' first step,
To bring change in your nation,
Your 'One' vote is crucial,
To spread light in the World,
You have only 'One' Sun,
To give cool nights,
You have only 'One' Moon,
To give shelter to all,
There is only 'One' Mother Earth.
‘One’ person can make a difference
“Don't fall for the lie, that one person cannot make a difference. All powerful movements began, with the actions of individuals, striving for change. Your actions count. Be the change.”
