Peeping thru the hole~

Peeping thru the hole~

Shhh….be quiet the demon is asleep

Any sound you make will interrupt

Let him enjoy some long forty winks

So I could paint the blank canvas,

Pen some prose and put my spirit at work.

Let me scribble while he’s asleep

Anything my heart dictates,

While I’m endowed in a poetic mind

And my passive hand takes the course

Of jotting words quavered in thoughts.

Thoughts for the things I longed to have

Like for that hug that I never had

That missing piece of the puzzle

Stolen by a prolific witch with a long-nose,

Yellow eyes and black feathered tongue.

Shhh…be quite the demon is asleep

Let me enjoy the mountain view,

The tri-colored sky of scarlet, orange,

And yellow like fiery thoughts

Collected in my head, imbued in my heart.

Hurry while the demon is asleep.

Let me create and enjoy the moment

Feel the breeze of the universe

Of pleasurable thoughts hiding inside

Some purplish hues of defeating feelings.

Gently remove the thorny crown

The crown of sorrow and shaded clouds

Wrap and protect me in a blanket of love

Not in the gloom of the dying willow,

Please hurry because this is only temporary.

Gracefully dance with each tick of the clock

Before the lunar signs reverse its shadow

And the sky is full of dust again

Swiftly lift my wing, rise above, fly

Before the demon slaps crazily again.

Soon, the demon will be up, cloak in black

To shut me up and motivation halt

In the autumn of despair I’ll be stuck again

Like foliage on the ground harshly swept by the wind

Into the direction of a muddy habitation.

XOXO~

Actually CrisSP,

Shauna is here and it is she plus a couple more who reminds me of the native Americans. Yet some of your touching lines also have that sort of feel and a tad Shakespearean too. Once again, an immaculate piece!

An exquisite and very balanced piece. Excellent work. I need a hug too, so I'm coming over. Here (Hugs) Is there an emoji for this?

Good to see you, my dear friend CrisSP. What can you do? Write as you are doing. Visit Dilsberg in Heidelberg. Walk on the hills and take in the rose-tinted magenta leaves, floating upon the wind. Walk with your loved one and gaze downhill towards the choo choo trains and take in the crimson-coloured setting sun. Of course you can come here. I'll take you around.

I have written a poem today. Not as tender and soft as my last two pieces, but more enlightening, perhaps, more elevating. I can send it to you or dedicate it here tomorrow. Let me know.

Great to see you, as always and keep up the creative pieces. Much Love.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on October 22, 2018:

Cris, this is an amazing poem. I get a case of the blues from time to time. I just ride it out and let it take its course because it never lasts long. I might go outside with a book and listen to nature, or pull weeds and let my thoughts fly.

This poem seems to be from the perspective of someone who has more dark days than not. Perhaps someone suffering from bi-polar disorder or schizophrenia.

Shannon Henry from Texas on October 21, 2018:

I'm sure everyone feels that way from time to time. This is a poem that illustrates the feelings very well

Gypsy Rose Lee from Daytona Beach, Florida on October 21, 2018:

Most wonderful poetry. I dream my dark days aways and think of brighter times.

FlourishAnyway from USA on October 21, 2018:

Dark days. We all have them. I sleep mine away. Sleep is such a healer.

David Edward Lynch from Port Elizabeth, South Africa on October 21, 2018:

Yes, I believe I also have Autumn's of Despair, a thought provoking poem, thanks for sharing. Beautiful photos too!
