April Tanka #12

My name is Jamie Lee Hamann and I started writing poetry on Hubpages back in 2013. Every year I share a poem a day in April.

New Neighborhoods

A construction crew

work multiple foundations

in new neighborhood

world changes too soon

once land of Sagebrush

high quality two story

tract homes with nice yard

maybe bird feeder

just yesterday stud

covered by miles of sheet rock

settled wet concrete

once lived Jack Rabbit

cleared the birds reed home

flattened earth with bulldozer

secure grounded planks

nests built in transplant

on timber fence line

once available open

filled with private lives

hidden valley floor

this neighborhood starts

as display of dull color

along farther line

to new horizon.
