My name is Jamie Lee Hamann and I started writing poetry on Hubpages back in 2013. Every year I share a poem a day in April.
Most days seem to fill with sun
known from studying histories
from a "Winter's Ending" Perspective
yellow flowers bloom possibly Daffodils
yet weather can change in a flash
within time taken to open one beer.
No longer spend time drinking beer
know nothing about beer, same about sun
sobriety could end in a flash
stay sober while studying histories
wonder whether those are Daffodils
takes all focus to keep perspective.
From multiple loved ones perspective
everyone is grateful I quit beer
spend more time planting Daffodils
my Tomato plants ask for more sun
to create vegetable histories
among memories lost in a flash.
Ten years sobriety feels like a flash
no intoxicated perspective
to hinder rewriting histories
spend time with loved ones more than with beer
remember relationships with sun
no longer spinning in Daffodils.
Spirit now grows like the Daffodils
who all seem to bloom this year with flash
we all feel increased heat from the sun
enduring multiple perspectives
wave at my neighbor drinking his beer
we all are humans with histories.
Best to study our histories
where did we roam amongst Daffodils
remember behavior when on beer
how balance would leave in a flash
constantly informing perspective
how life is better under the sun.
from the perspective of Daffodils
the light flash off my neighbors beer.
