An Itch On My Baby Toe

Author:

It Is Driving Me Crazy

Out of nowhere

I got a bite

I never saw it coming

I rub it

I scratch it

It sure has me losing my mind

I can't focus

I can't think

I just want it to go away

I put some hydrocortisone cream on it

Finally, the itch has stopped

Relief at last

It is amazing how one thing can change our whole perspective

So if that worked against me

How can I use the same technique for my benefit

I think of something I want

Then instead my itch

I think of my new idea

Instantly, refocusing on each thought after that

Only to make all my thoughts aligned with each other

For one purpose

Then creating something so powerful

That came out of imagination

To develop in a world we all know

Peachy An itch comes and an itch goes. Until we itch again. Life is pretty good and the weather looks so nice. Thank you so much for reading and taking the bite out of an itch. Have a wonderful morning.

Gypsy Rose Lee That is a good itch and you seem to have found it. I prefer a laptop over a desktop. It is easier and portable. Why do you like the desktop better? Another day of writing ahead of us. I want to know if you would share your itch. I have been behind in my comments and in my latest writing. Thank you for always finding ways to cheer me up. I love your humor. Have an amazing writing day. Where you get not only the things you wanted to get done but a whole lot more.

Marlene Bertrand I am glad your itch went away. I will tell you I try not to dislike anything in life because it makes me feel bad. I know for certain I do not like itches. They come out of the blue. When they leave I couldn't be happier. I was very fortunate that your itch came at the time it did. Thank you for sharing your story. I recently bought a plastic back scratcher and I had a wooden one somewhere. I leave it in the car. There was a time I was driving and all I could think about is scratching that itch. I said I am going to make sure that never happens again. So far the itch has not returned. I am ready if it comes again. Have a beautiful morning.

Devika Primic Every time I read your comments I feel great warmth and comfort. You are so nice to take the time to respond. Life is so busy I don't know if I am coming or going half the time. I try to stop and then I feel I am missing out on life's greatest joys. So I am learning how to slow it down a bit and I am trying to savor the moment a little longer. I connect it with food because we eat so often. Thank you for reading and sharing. Have a lovely day.

Brenda Arledge It is not easy trying to think of something else. When scratching doesn't help maybe our mind can do the rest. Trust your mind and maybe it is stronger than you think. In the end, I use cortisone cream to give me ease. The itch in the middle of my back is the worst. We have a lot of energy to do many things. Thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. Have a beautiful Monday.

Yeppie...those itches are the worse, but focusing on other things seldom works for me.

DREAM ON a focus on something else made your itch feel better. Your idea of sharing experiences is great in poem.

Marlene Bertrand from USA on September 04, 2020:

Interesting timing that I discovered your poem at the same time I was experiencing an itch on the toe next to my little toe. It was bothering me so much. I almost stopped scrolling for something to read when I saw your title. My itch stopped as I read your poem. Now I can relax and get on with the evening.

After having a storm knock out our Internet and it could not be fixed for two weeks at the end of August the only kind of itch I had was to get back online. After this time I am faced with a grand mess online and unhappy to be using a laptop since I am a desktop PC person so all of that also still needs to be fixed and adjuste3d. I hope you have a great weekend.

John Hansen I am so glad the itch is over and now I can replace that awful itch with a good thought. If I can stay focused like a laser and do all I can then I can go so much farther than before. Somehow over time, the drive becomes less and less instead of more persistent. I will try and have to check in with you to see how you are doing too. On with a nice day of 84 degrees. I hope you will have an excellent day. Thank you so much for reading and caring.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on September 03, 2020:

Dream On, I love the idea of replacing our focus from an itch to something we dearly want to achieve instead. I will have to try that method myself. Nothing more annoying than an itch, especially if it is one you can’t reach.
