An Answer for the Bad

I don’t feel alone but sometimes it’s true
It’s not because people don’t love me
I know the right one’s do
It’s how nature survives without regret
While people say, “Life goes on”
And then they forget
But I won’t

I don’t know if that’s how God thinks
All I ever heard was how I’m a sinner
So I keep buying drinks
I don’t think I’m such a bad man
Dreams of fire and burning ash
It’s too much to stand
But I can take it

I can’t complain about the times I’ve had
I laughed more than being sad
In the final hours we can’t take it all back
We only answer for the bad

My face isn’t melting, my hair isn’t on fire
I can’t very well see what it is I think
All I hear is the choir
What are they singing about anyway?
I’m not the one behind the pulpit
I’ll find my own way
It’ll be a good one

I can’t complain about the times I’ve had
I laughed more than being sad
In the final hours we can’t take it all back
We only answer for the bad

Well said Mark. Yes, we only answer for the bad. Let’s hope we have lived life more on the good side.
