Am I to I am
It's based from my experience when I was in college. I tried to join in a program, but I wasn't given the chance. It broke me but fired me.
Don't let them put you down. PROVE TO THEM THAT YOU ARE SOMETHING!
Am I not worthy to reach epiphany?
Why are you not sorry for not seeing me grow fully?
I thought you taught that gifts would vary,
but how come you never see me as lovely?
Am I that loud and showy?
That you do look at me so lowly.
Am I not worthy of a glance? Of a chance?
To have a single tolerance to what you see on my appearance.
My blood jumps on despute.
My heart pounds for a quiet refute; because
There's abstinence of guilt for the person you'd mute!
But, but, I'll be back with elegant tie, suit and solely retribute.
Am I to I AM will occur
between the pain I endure
and the hatred which contour
on my soul you treated so poor.

This is such a strong poem with a real sense of being wronged within the lines. Great writing.
