Alone yet Never Lonely

People all around me

Voices in my ear

I tune them all out

Until I cannot

They are saying nothing

Yet talking so loud

Full of themselves

Bragging and proud

I’m lost in my thoughts

Recalling my dreams

Bored with pretension

Nothing is as it seems

I'm oblivious

To all the chatter

Nothing they say

Even really matters

Each one trying

to impress the others

I don’t say a word

Why even bother

In the midst

Of the multitude

I'm paying attention

Not being rude

I'm alone in the crowd

But never lonely

Reflecting on all

That I see around me

When you have different perspectives, others voices would be meaningless.

Been there. You're right. The observer is as much a part of the group if he or she is learning.

That's a very well written poem. I can relate to this poem too but being alone yet never lonely.

A wonderful poem which shows the ability to be happy with your own thoughts and company even in a crowd.
