ABC For Me Challenge

Fellow writer and friend Pamela Oglesby has issued a challenge to use the ABC to write something about ourselves. The ABC For Me challenge was originally posted by Rick Lewis on Medium, but Pamela thought it would be interesting to pass it on to her friends here at HubPages.

I have been thinking about this one for almost two weeks since Pamela issued her challenge, and I was struggling to come up with anything. I mentioned this to Brenda Arledge who kindly gave me a couple of suggestions for the letter "A." I actually used one of her suggestions, and once I started I was off and running and got the whole thing done and dusted within the hour. So, a big thank you to Brenda.

All About Me ~ ABC

Australia is my island home

Been here since I was born

Cats - I have six of them (at last count)

Dogs - I have one miniature fox terrier

Environmental protection is in my heart

Firefighting is something I’ve done

Gravy is a must on steak - at least for me

Home is where the heart is - my favourite place

Ink in a pen - very important for a writer like myself

John - that’s my name

Kathleen - my wife’s name

Learning is something I do every day of my life

Maintaining my weight - is not easy, but doing my best

Netflix keeps me occupied if I ever get bored

Outdoors - somewhere I enjoy being. Shh! Don’t tell my garden

Poetry is my writing passion - it always has been, always will

Quiet alone time is important to me

Rugby League Football is my favourite sport

Staying free of COVID is my main goal

Taurus the Bull is my star sign

Untidy I’m not! - it’s just things around me are out of control

Vegemite is a must in every Aussie kitchen - especially mine

Walking the dog (Honey) is a welcome form of exercise

X marks the spot of that hidden treasure I keep searching for

Yesterday’s gone, Tomorrow’s yet to come. I live for today

Zest for life - I hope I never lose it (but if I do I always have lemons)

If by Rudyard Kipling

This poem, "If" by Rudyard Kipling has always been one of my favourites and an inspiration in my life. It contains many important lessons that we should try to live by.
