Accepting the ‘Change’—Poem

Change is normal,

Change is inevitable,

Change happens everyday,

Change can be good, or bad,

Change doesn't spare anything,

Change comes to everyone,

Change is unavoidable,

Change is the only constant.

Why are you afraid to change,

Why do you want to remain trapped,

Why don't you want to bloom,

Why don't you want to grow,

To grow, you must change,

To develop, you must change,

To bring change to your life,

You must change—to change,

Venture into the unknown,

Explore the mystery,

Get over the fear,

Accept the challenges,

Change your attitude

Accept the Change.

A bud has to change, to become a flower

A bud has to change, to become a flower

The Theme of the Poem:

This poem was composed, while going through the pictures of the change in the colours of the leaves, famously known as, the ‘Fall colours.’

Do you go through your old photo albums often?
Do you have the same appearance, as you had some 10 years ago, or 30 years ago, or 50 years ago?

Obviously not!

Our physical appearance changes, as much as much as our mental attitude.

Our thoughts, our personality, our relationships, everything changes with the passage of time.

Then, why are we sometimes stuck at something, (read comfort zone.)
Seasons change, landscapes change, our places where we live changes, people change, relationships change (sometimes sadly).

Remember, that to grow and prosper, we must come out of our comfort zone, and accept the changes, and be the part of it.
Life itself changes, in so many ways, at so many times. But, we must move on, and accept, and adopt the changes.

The old has to give passage to the new.

“The secret of change is to focus, all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” —Socrates.

Change is the only constant— From old to new

It's true that change is inevitable. Change can also be scary. But once you have taken that leap of faith, you might encounter a completely untrodden land, a blank canvas waiting for you to splash colors of life. Nicely done, Chitranganda.

I feel that if we are responsive to change then it will make us stronger people. Sometimes the fear of change can hold you back from the very thing you need to do to improve. Your poem is a reminder of this Chitrangada - words of wisdom. Lovely.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on September 28, 2020:

Wonderful message, my friend. It's a message that strikes home when you are about to turn 72, as I am. I, for one, find change invigorating and exciting, but I may not feel that way in ten years. :)

Change is something we all should embrace and adapt. Without change, we cannot learn anything new nor can we grow as your poem reflects. Splendid poem, Chitrangada.

Those who haven't changed over the years are the ones who haven't learned anything at all. With experience, it is inevitable that people change. Lovely poem. Keep writing.
