Amani is a university student who loves writing. I have been writing since I was twelve. I love writing.
Am done waiting for you to finally see me as I see you.. You already know my part, you know how I feel.
You know how you mess me, always. The few times I tried to walk away you just sucked me right back... And then it was back to tormenting me...
Sometimes I just want to smoke, not because it looks nice when people do it but because of the satisfaction they seem to get when they blowing out the smoke.... And sometimes I feel like maybe I just just show up at bar, drink and drink some more. Then maybe I'll get you out of my mind for a couple of days.....
I think you really enjoy seeing me this way, maybe , just maybe, it gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have the upper hand on me and I just can't swipe you away
So today I'll take that bottle, and one cigarette... To get the courage to delete your number ... Then tommorow I'll find a new poison that's gonna kill me faster that you've been doing....
If that doesn't work, because am sure it won't I'll buy a one way ticket to a place I don't know and just leave without you...
Because am honestly done waiting for you...

Amani, you crafted it very well. As you said in your poetry "The few times I tried to walk away you just sucked me right back... And then it was back to tormenting me..." I can feel these lines. Thanks for sharing
Blessings and Peace

The reader can feel the emotion and frustration expressed in this poem. The narrator is clearly “done waiting” and won’t take anymore.

I love this! It's so heartfelt.
It is truly the way one feels when he is tired of playing games with someone he loves.
Problem is...there's no way to get that poison out of your veins. It's there for life. It's a part of you now & only time will make it fade away.
Sadly...there's no running away.
