A Prayer to Athena

Updated on November 7, 2017

I wished upon a star to one day find happiness, but I got nothing except misery.

I wished upon a star for peace and love on my birthday, but I always got hurt.

I felt I was not meant to find happiness and then it appeared to me.

I couldn’t find happiness while I was unhappy with myself.

I joined a religion that offered me the chance to redeem my happiness.

And so every night I pray to the Goddess Athena to guide me on the right path.

I pray each night and thank Athena for my redemption.

Now all my dreams can come true as long as I remain honest with myself.

I feel that I don’t need anything else in my life,

other than to fulfil all my dreams and wishes.

It would be nice to find that special someone,

but I know that when the time is right they will appear in my life.

And I will feel complete and truly happy.

But for now I have everything that I will ever need,

and the rest will come when the time is right.

I have seen a glimpse of what is in store for me,

and I feel deep in my heart that it is destined to come true.

Just like every other glimpse of the future that I have seen.

I thank the Gods and Goddesses for giving me this gift.

It has been such a blessing,

and I pray that it never gets taken from me.
